Agreement to these terms

These terms govern your use of the TINKL application and website (the “Service”), operated by TECHGURU (“TINKL”, “we”, “us”). By installing or using the Service you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, do not use the Service.

Using TINKL

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the Service for recording and managing care information for animals you are responsible for.

The Service is provided free of charge during its beta period. We may introduce paid features in future; any such change will be announced in the app before it takes effect and will not retroactively charge you or remove access to data you already created.

Your data belongs to you

You retain all rights to the records you enter. Records are stored primarily in your own browser on your device. You can export them at any time as JSON or CSV, and you can delete them at any time. We claim no ownership of your content and do not use it for advertising or for training any model.

Because records live on your device, you are responsible for keeping access to that device and browser profile under your control, and for exporting anything you cannot afford to lose.

Cloud backup and Sync Keys

Cloud backup is optional. When you use it, your backup is protected by a Sync Key generated on your device. There is no password reset and no recovery email: anyone holding the Sync Key controls the backup, and losing the key means losing access to that backup.

Backups are provided as a convenience. We do not warrant that backups will be uninterrupted or error-free, and we encourage periodic local exports of anything important.

TINKL is not veterinary advice

TINKL records information and performs simple arithmetic on it (totals, intervals, trends, due-date suggestions). It does not diagnose, treat, or prevent any condition, and nothing in the Service — including summaries, reminders, overdue flags, or generated reports — is a substitute for professional veterinary judgement. In an emergency, contact a veterinarian immediately rather than consulting the app.

Acceptable use

You agree not to: abuse the feedback or backup endpoints (for example automated spam or denial-of-service attempts); attempt to access another person’s backup without their Sync Key; resell the Service; or use it to store information about people rather than animals.

Feedback

If you send us suggestions or bug reports, you grant us a perpetual, royalty-free licence to use those ideas to improve the Service, without obligation of attribution or compensation. You keep ownership of anything you wrote.

Disclaimers

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that reminders will fire at any particular time: notification delivery is controlled by your browser and operating system.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for loss of data, profits, or goodwill arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Service. Our total aggregate liability for any claim arising from the Service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us for the Service (typically zero) or one hundred units of your local currency.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the Service evolves. The revised version will carry a new “Effective” date above. Material changes will be announced in the app where feasible. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
